Obituary for Dorothy M. White

Hulls Cove-- Dorothy M. White, 92, died August 27, 2012 in Hulls Cove. She was born October 16, 1919 in Ellsworth on the family farm the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Maddocks) Mitchell.
Dorothy graduated from the University of Maine in Orono. She and her late husband, Howard White owned and operated the Colony Motel and Cottages for over 50 years in Hulls Cove. She enjoyed gardening and animals.
She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Mueller and husband, Brian, of Bradenton, FL; 2 grandsons, Joshua White of Bar Harbor and Zachary Wright, of Trenton: 3 nephews, Ray Turner and wife, Dean, of Bar Harbor , Howard Brown and wife Bonnie, of Austin, TX. and Everett White of Bar Harbor; 3 nieces, Dana Jean Boas and husband, Louis, of Winthrop, Ruth Keene of Bar Harbor and Elizabeth Adler and husband, Gary of Mt. Desert; 4 grand nieces, Tanya Deserie of New Orleans, Heidi O’Conner of Bar Harbor, Anna and Jennifer Boas, of CT. Dorothy is survived by her loving extended family, Jean Quayle Johnson and her two sons: Kyle and Kim Johnson, all of Hulls Cove and her daughter, Kasey Reid and her children, Haley and Emily, all of Cherryfield, and by her gardener, Dana Foster of Salisbury Cove.
Besides her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Anna Jean Turner and Barbara Brown.
Graveside Services will be held 10am, Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hillside Cemetery, Hulls Cove with Rev. Dr. Sandra Reed officiating.
Those who desire may make contributions in Dorothy’s memory to the Congregational Church of Bar Harbor, 29 Mt. Desert St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
