Obituary for Donna M. Palmer

Donna M. Palmer, 64, died June 30, 2014 at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born in Mount Desert, October 29, 1949 the third child of Harry G. and Joyce M. (Murphy) Merchant.
Donna had a love for people, she loved her family, friends, and her Facebook friends, and animals, especially her dogs, Taz and Bandit. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Donna worked in the kitchen at the Airline School in Aurora, as a jury officer at Superior court in Ellsworth, and Walmart in Ellsworth until her health forced her to retire. She was a Den Master of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Aurora.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce M. Merchant of Sullivan; a daughter, Correnia M. (Hudson) Austin and husband Brian of Hampden; sons, Donovan E. Hudson of Hancock, Robert M. Palmer, Jr. and wife Beverly of Bucksport; stepchildren, Glen Palmer, Steven Palmer, and Cindy Palmer, Norman Gilmore III, Janice Toothaker, Donna Gilmore and Brian Gilmore; grandchildren, Edward, Nickolas and Cote Hadlock, twins, Madison and Carter Austin, Robert and Jen Janswitzts, Ashley Featherson, Eddie and Jessica Arsenault; many step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Wells, Alexzander Hadlock, Elliott Damon Hadlock, Bailey MacLean, and many other great-grandchildren; siblings, Scott Merchant, Dale Buzzell, Myrna Shaw, Beverly Merchant, Matt Merchant, and Leilani Leadbetter and their spouses; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her father; husbands’, George Hudson, Robert M. Palmer, Sr. and Norman Gilmore, Jr.; stepson, John Palmer, and step-grandson, Stephen Elliott Gashlin.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery.
