Obituary for Donald M. Bennoch

Bar Harbor
Donald Mason Bennoch, 64, died January 22, 2013 at a Bangor hospital with his family by his side. He was born January 26, 1948 in Ellsworth, the son of Earl Charles and Althea Iola (Bragg) Bennoch.
He graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1967. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea for 17 month, from 1967-1970. He and Marsha McGarr were married in 1975. They have two children, Joshua and Megan and most recently he had been enjoying time with his 3year old grandson, Warrick. Donald came home and started work for the Town of Bar Harbor, in the Public Works Department. He drove heavy equipment and worked from 1971 until his retirement in 2012.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Marsha Jean (McGarr) Bennoch of Bar Harbor; son, Joshua Earl Bennoch of Bar Harbor; daughter, Megan Marie Bennoch and fiancée Morgan Black of Tremont; grandson, Warrick Harley Black of Tremont; two brothers, Richard Bennoch and wife Jeannie of San Antonio, TX., and John Bennoch and wife Mary of Bar Harbor; one sister, Susie Cyr of Gorham, NH.; and eight nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, James Bennoch “Big Jim”.
Memorial services will be held 1:00PM, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert with Reverend Gerry Gregersen officiating.
