Obituary for Dennis H. Carr

Dennis H. Carr, 66, died February 17, 2012 at a Bangor Healthcare Facility. He was born April 16, 1945 in Bar Harbor, the son of Harland and Fabyan (Webber) Carr.
Dennis graduated from Mt. Desert High School in 1963 and from Bentley College in 1967. After college, Dennis served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as an investment advisor for 40 years. He was a member of the Union Church of Northeast Harbor and, for 43 years, the American Legion Lurvey Wright Post #103 of Northeast Harbor. He was a director of the Mt. Desert Nursing Association for 20 years. Dennis and his wife Anna were avid hikers. They backpacked 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail. He also enjoyed golfing and won the MDI Golf Championship.
He is survived by: his father, Harland Carr; his loving wife of 33 years, Anna (Carlson) Carr, both of Northeast Harbor; his sons, Jonathan Carr and wife Susan of Auburn, Thomas Carr of Washington D.C; and one daughter, Hilary (Carr) Lisee and husband Jason of Columbia Falls; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Hannah, Paige, Josiah and Ben; two brothers, Larry Carr and wife Betty of Redhook, NY, and Ronnie Carr and wife Alma of South China; and one sister Susan Bulay and husband, Bob of Old Town. He was predeceased by his mother, Faye.
Services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Union Church of Northeast Harbor with Reverend Laura Hatch officiating. Spring interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Northeast Harbor.
