Ellsworth
Chris W. DeLong, 66, died January 24, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 8, 1947 the son of Joseph J. and Virginia D. (Warford) DeLong Jr.
Chris served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970. After moving to Ellsworth he began working for the telephone company as a Central Office Installation technician. His hobbies included building hot rods and drag racing, photography, bass fishing and riding motor cycles.
Chris is survived by his mother of Newburgh, IN; a son Devin DeLong of Ellsworth: a daughter, Lisa DeLong of Bangor; brother David DeLong of Evansville, IN; sister Nancy Mills and husband, Mike Mills of Lexington, Kentucky; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Sarah Ann (Lander) DeLong and his father, Joseph J. DeLong, Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1-2 pm, Friday, Jan.31, 2014 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin Street, Ellsworth where a memorial service will follow at 2 pm.
Those who desire may make contributions in Chris’s memory to the Bangor Veterans Home, Activities Fund, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, 04401. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com
