Obituary for Charlene W. Stewart

Seal Harbor and Bar Harbor
Charlene W. Stewart, 87, died November 10, 2014 in Bar Harbor. She was born July 4, 1927 in the village of Somesville in the Town of Mt. Desert the daughter of Charles M. and L. Therese (Dunbar) Walls.
Charlene and her husband Willard “Bill” Stewart live in Rhode Island for 11 years before moving back to Seal Harbor. She worked as an insurance sales person at the Lynam Agency in Bar Harbor for 18 years before retiring. Charlene was a past member of the Mt. Desert Literary Club, the Seal Harbor Village Improvement Society where she had served as secretary, The Parish of St. Mary and St. Jude Episcopal Church of Northeast Harbor and Seal Harbor where she has served on the vestry and altar guild and currently was attending St. Savior Episcopal Church of Bar Harbor.
She is survived by two sons, Matthew J. Stewart and wife Amy of Seal Harbor and Mark Stewart and wife Beverly of Princeton, MA; two grandchildren, Evan Stewart and wife Ann of Alexandria, Virginia and Kristen Hardison and husband, James of Otis; 1 great-grandson, Carter Stewart; a brother, John Walls and wife Penny of Lamoine; a sister, Anne Smallidge of Blue Hill and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in March 1994; and by an infant son, Robert Everett Stewart.
Friends are invited to call 12:00-1:00PM, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at St. Savior’s Episcopal Church, 41 Mt. Desert St., Bar Harbor, where a Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM with Reverend Jennifer Reece officiating. Interment will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery.
Those who desire may make contributions in Charlene’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
