Obituary for Beverly D. Locke (Durost)

Beverly J. (Durost) Locke, 63, died December 11, 2016 at her sister’s home. She was born April 10, 1953 in Farmington the daughter of David L. and Pauline M. (Phillips) Durost.

Beverly graduated from University of Maine at Farmington and received her BA and then her Master’s from Leslie College. She began teaching special education and went on to teach computers to students and many people in the community. Her goal was always to teach herself out of a job. She was a member of the local Tops Club, where she held many positions over the years. She was a member of Family Bible Church, Ellsworth where she was an integral part of the tech team. All her free time was spent with her grandbabies.

Beverly is survived by her mother, Pauline of Seal Harbor; two daughters Amanda Hill and husband Casey of Surry and Darci Robertson and husband Travis of Ellsworth; five grandchildren, Sherri, Daniel, Alexa and Sydney Hill of Surry and Zoë Robertson of Ellsworth; siblings, Dale Durost and wife Ginny of Attleboro, MA, Debbie Scillia and husband Gary of Ellsworth and Paul Durost and wife Ann of Seal Harbor; many loved nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, David L. Durost and grandson, Samuel Hill.

A Celebration of Beverly’s life will be held 4 pm, Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Family Bible Church, 460 High Street, Ellsworth. Those who desire may make contributions in Beverly’s name to the Make-A-Wish, 477 Congress Street, Suite M1, Portland, ME 04101. Spring interment will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery, Seal Harbor.
