Beverley A. Linek, 75, died unexpectedly May 2, 2020, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. Beverley was born December 3, 1944, in Pearl River, New York, the daughter of Thomas J. Linek and Beverley (Best) Linek.

Beverley graduated from Nyack High School, Nyack, New York, class of 1962. Following graduation, she attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, class of 1968. Beverley was a devout Catholic, a dedicated teacher and devoted mother and grandmother. She had three beautiful children and two grandchildren whom she supported in all of their endeavors in life. From school plays, to football, basketball, and soccer games, you name it, if one of her kids or grandkids was in something, she was there supporting them. Beverley loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with family and friends. Known as “Gammie” to her grandchildren, she loved playing games, bonding, watching TV, cooking and baking with them. She was famous for her cherry cheese pie, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake which she baked from scratch! She was nostalgic and loved her ’76 Stingray Corvette along with the Oldies but Goodies such as Smokey Robinson, The Beach Boys and Tina Turner.

Beverley is survived by her 3 children, her daughter, Rebecca A. Goff and her husband Ken Boykin of Winslow, Maine; her son, Brian J. Goff of Belfast, Maine; her daughter, Robyn S. Goff and her two daughters, Soren Hopkins-Goff and Abigale Richardson Goff; her 2 siblings, her sister, Eileen Bernadette Moran of Boston, Massachusetts; her brother Timothy Moran of Delmar New York; her 5 cousins Thomas Johnson of North Liberty, Iowa, Rick Johnson of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tala Geith of Miami, Florida, Tommy Higgins of Bristol, Connecticut and Barbara Maltese of Mesa, Arizona.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor on July 18 at 11am; followed by a celebration of life. Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, attendees are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing. Condolences may be expressed at

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Bev at Hancock Grammar School.

I have deep respect for Bev. She appreciated routines and respectful behaviors in the classroom and held students to high expectations. She faced conflict and offered helpful solutions when students faced a challenge. In my own classroom I danced a jig when I knew Bev was my substitute teacher; she was a wonderful sub. I believe Bev’s family will miss her profoundly. I wish we all could have had her longer. She is off on another adventure.
