The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Bernard Kortge can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Jim Malloy
Condolence: Broni, I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. I remember him fondly; he and your mom were wonderfully welcoming to me and all of your friends. I particularly remember his great Navy sea-stories. He will surely be in my prayers, as will your family.

Condolence: Sorry to hear about Bernard's passing. I remember many things about Bernard as we grew up in The Dalles many years ago. If our kids did what we did in those days, I think the "urge to kill" would be one we would entertain for our kids. But we survived and had many years. Again sorry to hear of his passing but he did have many years of a great life.

BTW if you do have a remembrance in the Portland area, please let us know.

Condolence: Bronwyn, Karen and Bill, I was so sorry to read about your dad's passing.
Bill and Eleita were good friends from Girl Scouting days in Central Oregon. You might remember that your mom was one of our Thin Mints group. Your dad, too, was active in our Scouting activities. We enjoyed many social times together.
And Karen, I still remember the evening in Washington DC when you entertained my daughter Karen and me. She was enrolling in the University of Pennsylvania and we took time to do some sight seeing in the Capital.
So many years have passed, but the beautiful memories linger on.
Blessings to each of you in this difficult time.
Helen Pruitt
