Obituary for Barbara A. Jewett
Barbara A. Jewett, 81, died May 25, 2009 at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born July 31, 1927 in Tremont, the daughter of Clarence R. and Velma (Seavey) Lewis.
Barbara was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and was an avid cook.
She is survived by her son, Mike Jewett of Ellsworth, and her daughter, Dolores Mello of Barnstable, MA., one brother, Bobby Lewis and his wife Maureen of Surry, one sister, Betty Pettigrove and husband, Russell of Parish, FL., grandchildren, Troy and Tadd Jewett, Gregory, Matt and Jennifer Campbell, eight great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Douglas Joy of Brewer and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Melvin A. and two sisters; Elsie and husband, Harvard Stanley and Patricia Joy.
Graveside services will be held, 11:00AM, Friday, May 29, 2009 at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor. Contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Ellsworth Public Library, 20 State St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
