Avis Mae Davis went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Westgate Manor in Bangor.
She was born on February 15, 1924 at Newport, R.I., the daughter of Frances and Hazel Spencer. Avis had a life-long passion for gardening and service to others. All who knew her cherished her smile and wit.
She is survived by a daughter Lilias and her husband Norman of Melbourne, FL, two sons John, of St. Paul, MN, and Vincent, of Brewer. Avis was predeceased by a husband, John Lewey and a husband , Andy Davis.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 am, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Jordan-Fernald , 1139 Main Street, Mt. Desert with a service of remembrance to follow at 11am. Interment will be at Otter Creek Cemetery, Otter Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
