Holden and Ellsworth
Avis Cox, 95, died August 11, 2012 at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born October 8, 1916 in Lubec Maine, the daughter of Cecil Clyde and Emma Alice (Wilbur) Stuart.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria and her husband, Roger Mitchell of Holden. Two grandchildren; Michael Mitchell and wife Tara of Vassalboro, and Cheryl and husband, Peter Foster of Calais, four great granddaughters, Erin and Tracy Foster, Jessie, Tiffany, and Samantha Mitchell and Alyssa Wood, two great-great grandsons, her nephew, Vance Stuart Jr. and niece, Linda Zwicker.
Avis was a long time member of the Grace Bible Church in Holden and enjoyed the services and many friendships she established there.
Avis was predeceased by her husband Earl and one brother, Vance.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Grace Bible Church, 6 Blood Hill Rd., Holden. She will be buried beside her husband at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Grace Bible Church, P.O. Box 483, Holden, ME. 04429.
