Obituary for Althea M. Gray

Bar Harbor
Althea M. Gray, 86, died January 2, 2013 at a Bar Harbor healthcare facility. She was born May 2, 1926 in Seal Harbor, the daughter of Alton and Nina (Pinkham) Gray.
Althea graduated from the Bar Harbor High School, where she met Samuel Gray Jr. and they were married on October 29, 1941. She worked in the Histology Department of Jackson Laboratory for over 30 years. Althea liked to go camping and travel around the United States. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading and enjoyed being with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Janice Gendron and her husband Robert of CT; two sons Samuel Gray III and his wife Bonnie of Hermon and Norman
Gray and his wife Christine of Bar Harbor; grandchildren Scott, Robert, Brian and Sabrina Brewer of CT, Ronda Buckingham and Ray Tate of Alaska, Stacey Downes of Bangor and Jason Gray of Bucksport, Makayla and Hunter Gray of Bar Harbor, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Sam Fairfield Gray Jr. on January 25, 2010, daughter Alice Blanton of NM; sisters Isabelle, Prudence and Alice, brothers Ronald, Frank and Alton.

Funeral services will be held in the spring.
