Obituary for A. Kenneth Potter

Ellsworth
A. Kenneth Potter, 91, died October 9, 2015 in Ellsworth. He was born, April 17, 1924 in Abbott, ME., the son of Delmont C. and Helen (Perkins) Potter.
Ken was a member of Lygonia Lodge AMFM #40, the American Legion and the Indian River Radio Control Club. He was the owner of Potter’s Jewelry Store in Bucksport and Ellsworth for many years. Ken and Sylvia enjoyed many years wintering in Flordia.
Ken is survived by his three daughters, MaryHelen and her husband, Robert E. Davis of Ellsworth, Carol and her husband, James DeWitt Jr. of Ellsworth and Geraldine and her husband, John L. Chipman Sr., of Birch Harbor; one brother, Irving Potter; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and special friend, Pauline Wright. He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Barron) Potter; one grandson, Robert T. Davis; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends are invited to call 1-2PM, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a Masonic service will be held at 2PM, immediately followed by a funeral service with Reverend Darlene Springer officiating. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care, 50 Union Street, Ellsworth, 04605 or to your local SPCA.
