Obituary for Sandra R. Kane

Brooklin
Sandra ‘Sandy’ R. Kane, 70, died February 01, 2015 peacefully at her home. She was born in Ellsworth, December 16, 1944, a daughter of Vondell and Marguerite (Pert) Stockbridge.
Sandy married Carroll Kane of Brooklin in 1963 and they lived and raised their three daughters there. In the mid 70’s, she worked as a nurse’s aide, and then graduated from EMVTI in 1982 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Sandy retired in 2012 after over 30 years of nursing. In retirement she enjoyed her time painting; starting with watercolors then adding mixed media and oil. Sandy was a hard working, generous, and beloved matriarch to her family. Well known for her compassion and kindness, she truly meant the world to us and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carroll Kane of Brooklin; daughters, Charlotte Kane of Bangor, Cindy Kane and husband Thom Kline of Windsor, VA, Crystal Kane of Southwest Harbor; grandchildren, Casey and husband Chris Robinson, Skylar Kane, Nicolette Kline, Duncan Kane, and Riley Kane; great-grandchildren, Erik Bishop, Damian and Kaiden Robinson, Julian and Adrian Murray; sisters, Louise Cirard, Lucille Morrill, and Beverly Newenham; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Wendell Stockbridge.
A celebration of life in her honor will be arranged at a later date.
