Obituary for Annette Marie Smith (Anderson)

Annette Marie  Smith (Anderson)
Surry -- Annette Marie Anderson Smith, 74, died July 12, 2017 after a brief stay at Seaport Village Healthcare. She was born in Orange, MA., January 28, 1943 the daughter of the late Richard “Dick” and Marie (Getchell) Anderson.

The family moved to Ellsworth from MA when Annette was a child. She attended school in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked at Dick’s Diner with her father for many years. Later she was the owner of Annette’s Restaurant in Ellsworth, worked at The Jackson Laboratory, and was a cook at Tideway Market in Hancock. She worked for Surry Elementary school and also at the Hancock County jail as a cook for many years until retiring.

She is survived by her husband, Jackie of 21 years; son, Ernest “Ernie” Spaulding and wife Lori of Bancroft; daughter, Melissa Anderson and fiancé Carl Holmes of Orland; son, Michael Smith and wife Margaret of Surry; daughter, Pamela Kelly and partner Emery; grandson, Jacob Smith of Surry; granddaughters, Lindsey Hill and husband Travis of China, ME., Tayrn Kelly of Nebraska; great-grandsons, Hunter Scharnick and Jameson Hill; sister, Nancy Jane Sawyer and husband Bobby of Ellsworth; and brother, Richard “Bub” Anderson and wife Beth of Ellsworth. She was predeceased by a sister, Babe Ruth Anderson.

Calling hours will be held 5:00-7:00, July 17, 2017 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth where a funeral service will be held at 1:00, July 18th with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating. A private committal service will be conducted at North Bend Cemetery, Surry.
