Marcia I. Robertson, a long-time resident of Penobscot, died July 4, 2016 at the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born May 8, 1923, the daughter of Urban and Doris Leach.

She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Maresca and her husband, Louis Johnson, of Hawaii, and Bonnie Grindle of Blue Hill; two sons, Dale Robertson and his wife, Stephanie, of Colchester, CT and Dennis Robertson and his wife, Patricia, of Penobscot; a brother, Phillip Leach, and his wife Patricia of Hallowell; 11 grandchildren, Michael Maresca and wife Nicole, Mark Maresca and fiancée, Lianne Shen and Matthew Maresca and wife, Barbara, Dana Grindle, Linda Grindle and Sandra Grindle-Peck, Michelle Mendonsa, Kimberly Robertson and Jennifer Labrie and husband, James, and Dawn and Debra Robertson; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Robertson, in 2001 and her son-in-law, Jerry Grindle in 2013.

Marcia was a graduate of Clark High School in Penobscot, class of 1941.

While raising four children she was involved with blueberries; from working in a blueberry factory to being an owner and operator of 30 acres of blueberry land.

She enjoyed many activities including square dancing, boating, swimming and beating us all at scrabble. After retiring she and Ralph enjoyed living winters in Hawaii and Zephyrhills, FL. Whether she was called Marcia, Mom, Nana or Nannie, it is agreed she was a great cook, an avid reader and a loving mother and grandmother.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00am at the Bayview Cemetery on Route 199 in Penobscot, ME. Reception to follow at the Penobscot United Methodist Church at 14 Southern Bay Rd, Penobscot.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be sent to the Penobscot Fire Company P.O. Box 20, Penobscot ME 04476.
