Obituary for Dwight Sherwood Webber

Dwight Sherwood  Webber
East Blue Hill -- Dwight Sherwood Webber, 73, passed away on June 23, 2016 at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital due to several progressive health conditions. He was born in Blue Hill, August 29, 1942 the son of Kermit and Beulah (Eaton) Webber.

He was a 1960 graduate of George Stevens Academy. His love of sports inspired him to later coach G.S.A. girls’ basketball and cross country. He also served on the G.S.A. Board of Trustees.

Among his employers were Webber Cove Boatyard, L.S. Thorsen Corp. and Stinson Canning Company. He also became self-employed – Dwight S. Webber, Painting Contractor and caretaking at summer homes.

Dwight served many years as Director/Officer at Blue Hill Fair and Eastern States Exposition (The Big E), and as a Director of the Maine Agricultural Fair Association, and member of the South Blue Hill Baptist Church. He was enabled to turn each new challenge during his illness into faith for a better day tomorrow.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eileen (Leach) Webber; son, Dwayne, daughter-in-law, Cindy, grandchildren, Michelle and Matthew Webber; son, Dale, daughter-in-law, Amy, grandchildren, Acadia, Molly and McIntosh Webber; sisters, Sharon Brown and Margo Webber; sister-in-law, Mabel Bowden; one niece and six nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
