Condolence: Dave was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. It was a pleasure watching him coach his daughter's basketball and softball teams, he always went out of his way to make sure all the kids had a good experience. Coaching kids was something he loved and those kids were lucky to have played for him. Two years ago my daughter was playing minor league softball against Dave's team at MDI. When she was batting everyone could hear Dave say "Morgan, if you strike out I'll buy you an ice cream." She did strike out and when the game was over Dave gave her money for an ice cream. That was her favorite Dave Gray story when we were talking about him over dinner the other night.

Condolence: We did not know David as so many of you did, but we always looked forward to seeing and talking with him. He always seemed to see the joy in life even when things weren't going well. Our island is diminished by his passing. Our best wishes to his family and friends at this sad hour.

Condolence: We would like to let the entire family know that we grieve over the loss of David.. Memories flooded our souls as hiis passing sunk in. Connie and I
Remember what a part of our little neighborhood character David was .
As a friend and classmate of our kids, Chad and Amy it was a nearly an everyday sight to see David shooting hoops at our badketball court and coming in and out of the house to get snacks etc.He was just a solid kid with good intentions toward all. As a man he fought to keep going when things got tough. We know he was the best Dad and husband he could be and hope and pray that God comfort the whole family in these difficult times.

Our love and Prayers

Condolence: Jack and Doreen and Family-
I was shocked to see David's photograph and obituary in today's BDN. David was the first friend our son Jim met when we moved to Ellsworth and we were backyard neighbors of yours for 15 years. I cannot begin to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. David was a fine man with a wonderful family and doing what he loved. He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched as a teacher and coach. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Condolence: I want to pass my sincere condolences to you and your family as this is a very tough time. I grew up in Ellsworth and played ball with Ronnie and David. We were distantly related through our mother's. David was a couple of years younger then I was but he always had grit and determination when he played ball. He was trying to keep up with us older kids and did. I will always remember his kind smile and thoughtful presence. He is a warrior and will be greatly missed. REST EASY MY FRIEND.

Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. David fought a courageous battle!
I still remember playing in the little league championship against him, (Waltham vs. Braves) and he and I pitched against each other. It was an epic battle for sure. Later on David and I were able to play for the Eagles as teammates/classmates and he was a very gifted athlete. David always had a smile, a great sense of humor and was just a really nice person.
My family and I will be praying for you Jennifer, your children and family that God will bring you His peace in your time of mourning. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
