Mary M. Cunningham, 91, died January 26, 2016 in Bar Harbor. She was born July 3, 1924 in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Donald W. and Beulah (Paine) MacLeod.

Mary attended Bar Harbor schools. She married her husband of 60 years, Walter R. “Joe” Cunningham on December 5, 1942. Mary enjoyed playing cards and knitting and was a member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, the MDI Hospital Auxiliary and the YWCA.

She is survived by two daughters: Raye Menzietti of Lamoine, Gayle Davis and husband, Michael of Laguana Hills, CA., one son, John Cunningham and wife, Sylvia of Hulls Cove, two sisters-in-law, Beverly Fraser and Pauline Johnson of Bar Harbor. six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Walter “Joe” Cunningham, two sisters, one brother, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
