William W. “Bill” Jenkins, Jr., 84, died August 3, 2021, at Birch Bay Village, Bar Harbor. He was born on March 8, 1937, in Albany, New York the son of William W. and Pearl (Hathaway) Jenkins, Sr.
Bill was a graduate of Lawrence University, Appleton, WI in 1959. He was married to his best friend and loving wife Julie for 49 years. Bill worked for several years at the Henry R. Hinckley Company as a Purchasing Agent and in later years as the Manager of the Hinckley Ship Store.
Bill was an avid sailor who competed in myriad Bermuda Races aboard “Harpoon.” He enjoyed cruising the Coast of Maine with his First Mate, Julie, and was a member of the Bass Harbor Yacht Club. Bill also enjoyed volunteering for Friends of Acadia.
Bill is survived by his children Sheila, Peter, and Billy; daughter -in-law, Cheryl: Grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Keenan and Avery; Two great granddaughters Audriana and Ella. He was predeceased by his wife Julie and twin brother, Don.
