Obituary for Virginia M. "Jinny" Salsbury

Ellsworth
Virginia (Davis) Salsbury passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 3, 2024. She was born September 12, 1937, in Bar Harbor and she was the oldest child of Paul and Virginia (Moore) Davis.

Virginia was a graduate of Ellsworth High School. Jinny met the love of her life, Richard Salsbury and they married November 10, 1957. She worked alongside Dick at Herrick & Salsbury and raising their children.
In 1988 they started traveling (in their 5th Wheel) to Florida, but she enjoyed coming home too. They wintered in Florida and had adventures all over the U.S. and Canada and made many friends. Dick and Jinny were very active campers in Good Sam Club. She was a very talented quilter and loved doing all kinds of crafts. She was a caring mother and grandmother and was always willing to babysit grandkids and grand dogs.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Richard; son, Steve Salsbury and wife Lisa, daughter, Stacey Salsbury and partner John Couture; grandchildren, Mel Salsbury and Jacob Austin; sister, Martha Murch; sister-in-law, Ginnie Mae Davis; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandson, Tyler Salsbury; sister, Nancy Domagala; brother, Paul Davis.

A funeral service will be held February 15, 2024, at 10:30 am at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with a reception to follow.

Interment will be held in the spring at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth
