Vaughn Elbridge Perry
Ellsworth: Vaughn Elbridge Perry (Pa) 93 died September 16, 2023 at an Ellsworth Hospital after a short illness surrounded by his children. Born June 09, 1930 in Sherman Maine, he was the son of Temple Morrill Perry of Sherman and Hilda Catherine Stairs of New Brunswick, Canada.
He attended local schools and married Myrna Noyes of Hersey, Maine. He worked on the Noyes farm on Retreat Road in Hersey as well as in the woods while raising four children. When the farm closed down he moved his family to Meriden CT where he started an auto repair business "Perry's Chevron" which he operated for several years. During this time he became involved with stock car racing and was part owner of several stock cars.
He closed the repair business and worked several years as a laborer and truck driver in the construction business.
He married his second wife Marion Rondeau in 1974 and moved to Weare, NH where he worked various construction jobs before retiring to Vanceboro, Maine. He enjoyed fishing on Spednic Lake in Vanceboro and running the local woods roads with his Beagle, Polly, looking for birds, deer and moose.
He also enjoyed creating furniture for family, friends and neighbors, which he produced in the little shop behind his house.
In recent years during the winter months he lived with his son Terry and wife Michelle in Limington, Maine returning to Vanceboro when the snow melted. He used to tell neighbors he was "going south" for the winter but never went farther south than Limington. He eventually moved to Ellsworth to live with his daughter Donalene and husband Tim and in the summer spent time with his son Jay back in Vanceboro. No matter where he was living he always had a woodshop and continued to make furniture.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion, of 25 years and five sisters: Ruth, Joyce, Rose, Maxine and Coral as well as a daughter Gail Aruda of Bermuda.
He is survived by a sister Roma Bigger of Lambert Lake, son Terry and wife Michelle of Limington, daughter Donalene Lounder and husband Timothy of Ellsworth, son Jay and wife Kathy of Wallingford, CT, son Timmy and partner Kelly of Wallingford, CT. Grandchildren: Kelly Lounder of Maine, Justin Lounder and wife Erica of PA, Emily Lounder of Montana, Jason Perry and wife Amy of Berlin, CT, Nathan Perry and wife Erin of Wallingford, CT, Matthew Perry of Wallingford, CT, Joshua Perry and wife Sara of Naugatuck, CT, Kyle Perry of Naugatuck, CT, Megan Aruda Nesbit and husband Roddy of Bermuda and Seth Aruda and wife Olga of Bermuda as well as several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
