Obituary for Samuel T. "Sam" Chisholm

Samuel T. “Sam” Chisholm, 67, died unexpectedly, June 7, 2021, at his home in Southwest Harbor. He was born Nov. 29, 1953, in Quincy, MA the son of Harry F. and Margaret (Spooner) Chisholm.

Sam was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, with the last few years working as Homeland Security. He served the community of Southwest Harbor for 43 years as an ambulance attendant, police officer and for the Southwest Harbor Fire Dept. Chief for 20 years. Sam found it very rewarding helping people.

Sam enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator. He loved the weather, especially storms. He enjoyed teaching firefighting, working with electronics, and helping with the town radios.

Sam and his wife Kim were married for 34 years. They enjoyed walking in the park with their rescue dogs and going to camp. He followed his two sons’ careers and was very proud of their accomplishments.

Sam is survived by his wife Kim M. (Norwood) Chisholm; two sons, Tommy Chisholm and Nathan Chisholm and wife Kristy; two grandchildren Avyn and Rue; sister, Donna Delaware; and Judy Cousins who was like a second mother.
He was predeceased by his parents.
