My sincere condolences to you and the family on the passing of Dick. It came as a real shock to me yesterday -in spite of your Christmas message that he had been battling his illness with great courage.
I have such fond memories of our time together and especially your visit to England and my home in Bath in '97. I shall never forget Dick's grace and humor as we celebrated US Thanksgiving with a bunch of English friends. He explained what it was all about and it was one of those evenings that will stay with me forever. He was a wonderful man and he has touched so many in his life-a life lived well with love and happiness.

Dick was a great guy,that's to be sure, but what I'll always remember most about him was that smile, and kindliness behind it. I had the privilege of working with him for some time, and what always struck me was how genuine that kindness was. It was who he was after all.
