Obituary for Mary L. Card

Dedham
Mary L. Card, 65, passed away on January 20, 2020, at a Bangor hospital. She was born at home in Hancock on January 31, 1954, the daughter of Gerald and Rose Mary (Martin) Kief.
Mary grew up in Hancock and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1972. She married Malcolm Card on October 21, 1972. Together they created homes for their family in Surry, Herman, and finally Dedham.
Mary is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 47 years, Malcolm Card; her daughters, Rachelle Lynn Card of Sullivan, and Shannon Rose Hamilton and husband Craig of Dedham; two granddaughters who meant the world to her, who were the stars in her sky, Savanna Rose Adams of Sorrento and Brittney Lynn Greatorex of Brewer; great granddaughter, Kaydince Olivia Malone and great grandson Declan Matthew Ryan; brothers, David Kief and wife Lynn of TN, Gerald Kief, Jr. and Tessie of Surry, and Timothy Kief and wife Christina of Hancock; sisters Pamela Saffell of IN, Marjorie Dyer Butler and husband Ernest of Hancock, and Kathy Carter and husband Richard of Hancock; and many nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by two very dear friends, Sherleen Lech and husband Paul of Dedham. Mary was predeceased by her parents; her son Matthew Edward, who always held a special place in her heart; sister Angela Kief, and brothers Kenneth and Dewey Gatcomb.
At Mary’s request, there will be no services. Please always just remember her infectious laugh.
