At the beginning of WWII, Marie lived with the O’Hara family, in Scranton, PA while her mother worked in the government. She developed a lifelong and close relationship with the family. When of school age, Marie was enrolled at St. Anthony’s Parish grade school in Brookland, Washington. In 6th grade, she transferred to Catholic University Campus School and from there was enrolled at Notre Dame Academy, N. Capitol & K Streets, Washington, D.C. Marie was then employed in Cleveland, OH as an administrator for several non-profit organizations.
In later years, Marie studied Theology, receiving her MA in Theology from Notre Dame University and taught evening classes for several years at John Carroll University in Cleveland before her retirement. She and Emy moved to Maine in 2004 to be nearer to their children and also because they loved Maine.
