Southwest Harbor
Lucie D. Phippen, 92, of Southwest Harbor died on February 15, 2013 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. She was born on Oct. 8, 1920 in Southwest Harbor the daughter of Arthur and Carrie (Greenlaw) Robinson.
Lucie graduated from Pemetic High School in 1941. On Nov. 21, 1946 Lucie married Shirley Phippen. They were married for 53 years before his death in 1999. Lucie was employed during the summer by Mary Usher for 44 years. Lucie enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, was a reader, and liked to keep up on current events. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Brandon & Laura’s Café.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Goodwin and husband John Jr.; grandchildren; Jaylene Sanborn and husband Ronald, Korey Goodwin; great-grandchildren; Melody and Colton Sanborn and Ali Goodwin. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Shirley; brothers, Harris, Richard and Paul; sisters, Ruth and Doris.
A celebration of Lucie’s life will be held 1pm, Monday , Feb. 18, 2013 at Brandon & Laura’s Café in Southwest Harbor.
