Obituary for Lois Roman (Romanousky)

Deer Isle, ME -- Lois Roman, formerly of Lexington, Manchester and Brookline Massachusetts, 87, died peacefully January 31, 2019 in Deer Isle, Maine. She was born December 26, 1932 in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of Anne and Frank Romanousky and brought up on a gentleman’s farm, which sparked her lifelong love of nature and animals.

She received an Associates Degree from Endicott College and became an Assistant buyer for Crawford Hollidge in Boston then became a homemaker with a gift for interior design, and an accomplished abstract painter and volunteer at De Cordova Museum. Favorite adventures included visiting Greece, the Virgin Islands, Singing Beach and holidays at the Concord Inn. Lois will be remembered as a vivacious, elegant and strong-willed woman. She appreciated beauty and style, and had an incredible eye for art. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, including their pets, and had an eclectic circle of cherished friends from all walks of life.

Ms. Roman is the beloved mother of Lauren Zeltzer of Katonah, New York and Darryl Zeltzer of Manchester, Massachusetts and Deer Isle, Maine. Lois is also survived by her three grandchildren, Lisa Zeltzer Warren, Julia Zeltzer Warren and Milo Zeltzer.

A graveside and memorial service will be held in Spring 2019 at the Lithuanian Cemetery in Waterbury, CT., date yet to be determined.
