Otter Creek
Kyle Jeremy Killion, 37, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Otter Creek on October 14, 2022. He was born May 24, 1985, in the Township of Neptune, New Jersey the son of Kevin J. Killion and Cheryl E. Mack.
Although Kyle was born in New Jersey, in the late 90’s his mother Cheryl E. Mack purchased a little pink house in the town of Otter Creek and that’s where Kyle grew up and fell in love with the Island and its tight knit community. Kyle was very well known throughout Otter Creek and Mount Desert Island. In August of 2005 Kyle started dating the love of his life Katie Massicotte and in 2008 they welcomed their son Brady Joel Killion. Kyle loved his family and worked his ass off to be the best provider, Father, and soulmate anyone could ask for. He loved his football and was a longtime New England Patriots fan. Kyle loved them so much that he tried to convince Katie to name their son Thomas Brady Killion. Kyle made so many people laugh, with his larger-than-life personality and his slightly big ears. His interactions with people left lasting impressions and his willingness to lend a helping hand acquired him many, many friends throughout his 37 years on this earth.
Kyle’s passion was for plumbing, a career path that he was introduced to by Joel Massicotte. A man that Kyle would later refer to after his unexpected passing as well as one of the greatest teachers in the craft of all time. Kyle had spent the last 18 years of his life working in the plumbing profession for James E. Jordan of E.G Jordan and for Hillard and Kevin Walls of Hillard Walls Plumbing and Heating. All the members of both companies Kyle thought of as family and they treated him just the same. Kyle had an ear for plumbing and an eye for it too. He was so excellent at his craft that he could face time people or talk to them over the phone and either tell them how to fix the problem or tell them just by listening, what exactly had to be done. In his early working years Kyle also worked at the EPI, and even spent time working for the CAT out of Bar Harbor.
Kyle was known as the guy who you could always count on to help you out in a bind, to the point where he would gladly give you the shirt off his own back if that’s what you needed. Kyle was willing to help anyone, anytime, rain, sleet or snow.
Kyle is survived by his son, Brady Joel Killion; Domestic Partner of 18 years, Katie Massicotte; sisters, Krista Killion and her sons Matthew and Nathaniel, and Jill Nicole Esty and his younger sister Julia. Kyle was predeceased by his mother, Cheryl E. Mack, father, Kevin J. Killion and grandmother, Patricia Backer. Kyle had so many special people in his life, and he will be remembered by so many friends, too many to name, but know he loved you all very much. Kyle cherished family and friends the most in this crazy life. Brady, and I want to thank you all for being here for us at this time of need just like Kyle would be there for all of you. I personally want to thank Jim and Becky Jordan, Hillard and Betty Walls, and Kevin and Sue Walls. Thank you for making us apart of your family, blood or not we are bonded for life. Kyle will be forever missed by those who loved him, and a piece of their hearts died the day he left this world.
A celebration of life for Kyle will be held from 4pm - 6pm, Friday Nov. 11, 2022 at the Otter Creek Hall, Otter Creek
