John W. Seaman III of Southwest Harbor, Maine passed away in peace on October 31, 2022, in Machias, ME. John was born on April 29th ,1946, in Long Branch, NJ son of Jeannette and John Wesley Seaman Jr (both predeceased).
John graduated Freehold Regional High School and the Milwaukee School of Engineering graduating with honors. Following graduation from MSOE, John returned home to apprentice and then joined the family engineering firm and additionally worked with regional commercial building firms on projects such as schools, colleges, and other community commercial buildings.
Originally, from Colts Neck, NJ, John enjoyed spending time on the farm and then vacationing in the summer to Maine to be closer to his love of nature. He eventually retired in the lovely community of Southwest Harbor, ME. John had many interests in life such as ski instructor and ski patrol, boating, and hiking especially in the Acadia National Park. His kindness and the enjoyment of helping others will always be remembered dearly.
He is survived by his two sisters, Sherry Hall and Jan Seaman both in NJ, another sister June Irmischer (predeceased), Niece Dana (Hall) DeOliveira, and nephews Matt Hickey, Ian and Drew Irmischer, Clint & John Hall and a special friend Teresa. With fond memories and gratitude, for the Southwest Harbor and the Mt. Desert Island community of friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
