Obituary for John Kalkow

Sorrento, ME
John Kalkow, 84, died February 22, 2012, at his residence in Sorrento. He was born in Newburyport, MA, July 28, 1927, the son of John D. and Catherine (Baron) Kalkow.
He attended Manchester CT College, University of Hartford and Central Connecticut State College. John served in the U.S. Maritime Coast Guard during WWII and the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. He worked seventeen years as a manager of a sports club and thirteen years in vocational/technical education. He was a member of the P.M. Columbia Lodge, East Haddam, CT, an all York Rite Bodies and York Rite Cross of Honor recipient, Y.R.C.H., a past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the American Legion Post 207 in Trenton.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jane, and a brother, Stanley Kalkow.
A memorial service will be announced and held in the spring.
