Obituary for Jamie Leigh Awalt

Orono -- Jamie Leigh Awalt, 58, passed away peacefully March 11, 2019 with her family at her side from complications of COPD. She was born in Bar Harbor, March 31, 1960 daughter of Jimmie William and Elizabeth (Tardiff) Awalt.

Jamie attended Hancock Grammar School and graduated from Ellsworth High School and Husson College. She lived and worked most of her life in the Bangor area. For many years she owned and operated her own business, Maid in the Shade. Jamie also worked several years at the family business, Timberland Acres RV Park in Trenton. Jamie enjoyed reading, playing games, making crafts and sewing, writing short stories, shopping and eating out with her parents. She was a resident of Meadowview Group Home in Orono for the past two years. Her family wishes to thank all the staff at Meadowview and Community Health and Counseling Services for their care and friendship. Jamie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Those who knew her best spoke of her genuine kindness.

Jamie is survived by her parents; sisters, Debra Awalt Ehrlenbach and husband Lincoln, Karen Awalt Brown and husband Paul; nieces, Erin Ehrlenbach Collins and children, Matthew and Joshua, Ashley Ehrlenbach Johnson and husband Aaron and daughter, Brielle, Jennifer Brown; nephews, Jimmie Brown and wife Rebecca and sons, George and Oliver, Jared Brown; two aunts; uncle and several cousins. Jamie had many friends and a very special friend, Rebecca Sargent.

A memorial service will be held 1:00PM, March 18, 2019 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating with fellowship to follow the service.
Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock in the spring.
