Obituary for Harry "Bud" Daley

Winter Harbor -- Harry "Bud" Daley, 86, died March 6, 2019 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Bud was born on April 17, 1932 in South Gouldsboro the son of George Daley and Ruth Hammond Daley.

Bud graduated from Winter Harbor High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea, during the Korean Conflict. He married Lila Merchant, March 26,1955. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this month. Bud worked at the can shop at Stinson's Sardine Factory, as a janitor at Sumner Memorial High School, and in his later years worked as a sternman on a lobster boat. Bud was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing puzzles and playing cards.

Bud is survived by his wife, Lila Daley; his daughter, Julie Brenton and her husband Thomas of Franklin; his granddaughter, Kari Gordon Dacanay and her husband Eric of Hoboken, NJ; his step-granddaughter, Leslee Differ and her husband Daniel of Franklin, MA; his step-granddaughter Joslyn Brenton and her husband Peter of Ithaca, NY; his four step-great-grandchildren, Jack, Quinn, Miles, and Clara; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Daley of Winter Harbor and Clara Daley of South Gouldsboro. Bud is predeceased by his brothers, Dayton, Kendall and Reynold; sisters, Lois Bunker, Robertina Preble and Twila Bunker.

A graveside service will be held 10 AM, June 8, 2019 at Brookside Cemetery, Winter Harbor.
