Frederick Edward Black, 74, passed from this life into his heavenly home on May 16, 2020 at Courtland Rehab & Living Center, Ellsworth. He was born May 24,1945 in Bar Harbor the son of Frederick M. and Emily C. (Shaw) Black.
Fred grew up in Southwest Harbor and graduated from Pemetic High class of 1964. He attended Beals Business College, Bangor and received a degree in business management. He then went into partnership with his father in their newly formed business, Coastal Disposal which lasted 19 years. Fred worked at Jackson Lab for five years and then started his own small business, Fred E. Black Light Trucking for many years. His motto was “you call will haul” and he lived up to it. Fred had an incredible work ethic, he just loved to get in his truck and go to a job no matter what it involved, he was up to it.
