BAR HARBOR – Edward A. Gurtler, 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. He was born September 8, 1932 in Newark, NJ, the son of Edward and Helen (Rittersbacher) Gurtler. Edward was formerly of Montville, NJ.

He is survived by his son, Michael A. Gurtler and his wife, Michele of Bar Harbor; grandson, Mason A. Gurtler; his sister, Linda of Pennsylvania and his sister Gail of Texas, along with is nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the many young people he touched through his volunteer work with Scouting and the YMCA.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Loismae, his eldest son, Edward W. Gurtler and he has now joined them again.
