Edgar Nickerson Walls, 90, died July 11, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. He was born May 30, 1931, in West Tremont the son of Milton and Zulma (Wentworth) Walls.
Edgar served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in France and Germany. He recalled his service time with fond memories. Edgar married his beloved wife Nancy Lou Leland on October 3, 1954. He was a carpenter by trade and his work can be found scattered on the island he loved. From a simple bench to an elaborate home, he made his mark. Edgar enjoyed fishing and traveling with friends. He continued to build furniture for his family and friends after he retired. Edgar was a member of the Masonic Lodge #208 A.F. & A.M., the American Legion Post #103, both of Northeast Harbor and the Seal Harbor Old Timer’s Club.
Edgar is survived by two daughters: Kathy Norwood and husband Bruce of Bar Harbor and Linda Szeliga and husband Jim of Newmarket, N.H.: grandchildren,
Justin Norwood and wife Katy Lawson, Drew Szeliga and wife Liz, Jessica Seavey and husband Cody and Duncan Szeliga and wife Katy; great-grandchildren, Lily, Avery, Luke, Westley, Elena, Grafton and Colinette: and his siblings Bill, Alonzo, Frank, Ida and Jeannie. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Nancy and siblings Stuart, Leatrice, Wilma, Leroy and Milton “Putt”.
Graveside Services will be held 1pm, Friday, July 23, 2021, at Seal Harbor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Mt. Desert Nursing Association, P.O. Box 397, Northeast Harbor, 04662.
