Obituary for Donna Mary Simbeck

Ellsworth – Donna Mary Simbeck, 89, died April 25, 2023, at Seaport Village, Ellsworth in the care of Beacon Hospice. She was born February 6, 1934, in Luthersburg, PA, the daughter of Victor L. and Geraldine L. (McGonigle) Sanker from DuBois, PA.

Donna graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in DuBois, PA. She earned her Degree in Nursing from the Spencer Hospital School of Nursing, Meadville, PA.

Surviving Donna are daughter Victoria (Edward) Moseley of Middleburg, FL; son, Michael Bennett of Ithaca, NY; granddaughters Amber Izzo (Corey) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Amanda Andrews (Derek) St. Augustine, FL, and Kara (Mark) Piper of Hancock, great grandsons Colin, Dylan, DJ and Clay, great granddaughter Aubrey, Kim and David Pinkham of Ellsworth, step brother-in-law James(Linda) Simbeck of Schertz, TX, step-sons, John II (Elise) Simbeck of Stanwood, WA; Jeffrey Simbeck of St. Louis, MO; William (Anna) Simbeck of Paola, KS; step-daughters, Diane (Shawn) Fortenberry, of Woodville, TX; Kathy (Steven) Popejoy of Blue Springs, MO; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donna will be sadly missed by many. Donna was predeceased in death by her first husband of 32 years, George Edward Bennett, her parents, and her second husband of 12 years, John Louis Simbeck, a high school sweetheart she married in November 2001.

A recitation of the Rosary will be prayed 10am, Tues., May 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 231 Main Street, Ellsworth with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at 11AM with the Rev. Joseph Lukong, presiding. Interment will be in the family plot at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Kebo Street, Bar Harbor. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter, P.O. Box 811, Ellsworth, 04605.
