Obituary for David Bruce Austin
Brooksville
David Bruce Austin, 76, died February 10, 2023 at his home in Brooksville. He was born in Castine, November 15, 1946 the son of Bruce A. and Elaine C. (Gray) Austin.
David attended George Stevens Academy graduating in 1964 and NMVTI in 1966. He served in the US Army 1966-1969 in Vietnam. He married Lois Dow on September 4, 1970. David worked at Callahan & Kerr American mines, Devereaux Marine, Maine Maritime Academy, Ken Jones & Sons Carpentry and Snow’s Plumbing and Heating.
He was a member of the Ira Berry Masonic Lodge, Gov. Brooks Lodge #142 IOOF, Brooksville Volunteer Fire Dept., and Brooksville Historical Society. He was a Registered Maine Guide and taught hunter safety courses. He enjoyed local history, genealogy, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Jennifer Dyer and Bruce Austin; grandchildren, Blaine Dyer, Addison and Mallory Austin; sister, Jane Austin, MI. He was predeceased by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Edgewood Cemetery, Brooksville.
