Obituary for Constance L. Eck (Spurling)

Constance L. Eck, 95, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend died peacefully at her home with her loving son by her side on August 18, 2021.
She was born August 6, 1926, in Islesford the daughter of Sheldon and Pauline (Dunbar) Spurling.

Connie grew up in Southwest Harbor and Islesford. She enjoyed and spent a lot of time with her grandparents, Ma & Pa Dunbar, and Grammie Spurling, she adored them. Shortly after graduating from Pemetic High School, she got married to her U.S. Coast Guard sweetheart named William T. Eck. They lived in Massachusetts and were married for 44 wonderful years. She loved and was an avid member for many years at the Grace Church in Norwood, MA. Everyone loved Connie, she loved to laugh and talk to everyone. She found the “good” in everyone! When asked “How are you doing?” she would always reply “Hanging In”. She loved the saying that a lot of people said to her “Connie Coo”- I love you! She was a wonderful, caring person and will certainly be missed. Connie believed you only get out of life what you put into it. She loved life, all people, and adventures. On her 85th birthday she went on an airplane ride to Islesford so she could look down at her old homestead.
