Christie Staples Kennedy, 31, of Ellsworth and Swan’s Island, passed away in her home surrounded by her family and friends on March 17, 2020. She was born in Blue Hill, Maine on June 1st, 1988. Christie graduated from MDIHS and received her bachelors degree in early education from UMO.
Christie was an outgoing, fun loving young woman, who had a great love for children and teaching. Her kind personality and compassion for her students left a lasting impact on many.
Christie felt complete when she met her husband and knew she had found the love of her life. Christie enjoyed country music, being with friends and listening to her brother play guitar. She also had a “partner in crime/sister for life” relationship with her cousin Lacey. One of her favorite things to do was to go camping with her husband and dog.
She will be remembered for her bright smile and infectious laugh. Christie was a devoted wife, loving aunt, and a loyal friend. She had a deep love for her father and brother and an extraordinary bond with her mother.
She is survived by her husband Micheal Kennedy, step-children Andrew and Emma Kennedy, parents Sput and Janice Staples, brother Eric and wife Leah Staples, nephews Mason, Axel and Cooper Staples, grandmother Martha Reed, grandfather Donnie and wife Bonnie Staples. She will be missed by her husbands family as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Swan’s Island on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 at 11 am.
