Obituary for Ardene Delano Scroggy
Blue Hill
After a short illness and a grand life of nearly 88 years, Ardene Rae Delano Scroggy passed away at home on December 26, 2023. She passed away at home and was surrounded by her family and caregiver. Ardene was born and raised in Bangor, ME. After marriage, she, and her husband (Jim Scroggy) moved to Lake George, NY, to raise their two children, Rebecca, and John.
After working for the Lake George, NY, school system for over thirty years, Ardene moved to Blue Hill, Maine, to enjoy retirement with her husband. Their love for all animals, especially cats and dogs, was nourished by becoming active and on the Board of the Ark Animal Shelter, Cherryfield, Maine.
Ardene is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Scroggy-Gould of Blue Hill, her husband William, and their son Cody (Austin, TX). She is further survived by her son, John Scroggy of Cohasset, Massachusetts, his children, Brittany Scroggy-Townsend, and his great-granddaughter, Lillian Townsend of Ballston Spa, NY. Ashley Scroggy-Spaulding (Patrick Spaulding) and great-grandson Henry Patrick Spaulding of Glens Falls, NY. Granddaughter Courtney Rae Scroggy of Austin, TX. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Carl and Lillian Delano of Bangor, Maine. Her husband, James Ivan Scroggy, of Blue Hill, Maine, and her Grandson, Nicholas (Nico) James Scroggy, of Lake George, New York.
We want to give a special thank you to the caregivers who treated Ardene like their own mother. She loved their time together and lived her best years with their love and support. Thank you to Sandy Nevells, Mellisa Petrik, Annette Nevells, and Mary Webster. We will always hold you deep in our hearts.

A Spring family gathering will be planned at their camp in Cape Rosier, ME.
