Obituary for Ann Carney Jordan

Ellsworth - Ann C. Jordan, born on February 14, 1943, in Ellsworth, Maine, daughter of Elizabeth (O’Dowd) and David Carney. She was known as “Mammy” to many, especially her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Ann passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at her home in Ellsworth, Maine.

She is survived by her oldest son, Michael and his wife Linda, and their children Zachary Jordan and his daughter Molly, his fiancé Emily, her children Kairi and Lucas, Addie Gray and her husband Matthew, and their children John and Thomas; her daughter Mary Martel and her husband David, Mary’s children Catherine Berry and her husband Greg, and their daughter Sadie; Jordan Carter and his wife Whitney and their children Kennedy and Olivia; her daughter in law Rhonda her children Bridget Davis and her husband Andrew, Ronald “Asa” and his fiancé Nicole and their son Owen; Patrick “Orion” and his wife Brianna. She is survived by her brother David Carney and his wife Cindy; sister in laws Ellain Frost and Beckett Jordan, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her parents, her husband RF, her sister Mary, and her youngest son Patrick.

Ann graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1961 and went to work at New England Telephone Co. where she worked until she retired to work with her husband in the company business they founded, R.F. Jordan’s & Sons Construction. They later founded another company R.F. Jordan & Sons Disposal and after they both retired from the family businesses they spent their winters in North Fort Myers, Florida.

Her first trip to Co. Mayo Ireland in 1996 united her with her “Irish family” that brought her many years of happiness along with several trips back to Co. Mayo. Ann leaves behind several cousins and their spouses who she loved dearly and held a special place in her heart.

Ann will be remembered by her family as a fiercely loving and loyal wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 am March 16, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 231 Main Street, Ellsworth.
