Obituary for Agnes Marion Taylor (Nickerson)

Sullivan

Agnes Marion Taylor, our wonderful mother, died March 16, 2024, at the
age of 101 and 5 months, she is now at peace with the lord. She was born on
October 31, 1922, in Hodgdon, ME, she always affectionately called herself
a "witch". She was looking forward to being reunited with her husband
Merrill S. Taylor, parents Chester and Della (Richardson)Nickerson;
siblings, Ralph Nickerson, Vivian Gehan, Carrie Appleby, Claude
Nickerson, Hilda Beers, and A vis Martelle.

She always went by the name Marion (never cared for the name Agnes).
Marion always had a smile and was always positive. Her life was not always
easy, but she made sure her children never wanted anything, at the expense
of doing without. Not sure how she ever managed to always work a full-time
job, manage the household, and raise three not so perfect boys. Marion
worked as a registered nurse in Maine, California, and Michigan up until her
well-deserved retirement.

We thank the lord that she passed without pain. She was still sharp as a tack
right up to her passing. She would remember and talk about things that we
long forgot about ages ago. The body was failing but not her mind. She was
a remarkable woman; she was loved and will be missed.

She is survived by three sons; Sherwood and Joan Taylor, Richard and Sue
Taylor of all of Michigan, Gary Taylor and Trudy Lunt of Sullivan, Maine;
grandchildren Richelle and Brett; two great grandchildren Addy and
Corinne: many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country.

Graveside services will be announced and held toward the end of May at
Hillcrest Cemetery, Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marion's memory may be made to the
Ashville Church, 149 Ashville Rd., Sullivan, ME 04664.
