Nancy Elizabeth "Davis" Domagala

Ellsworth

Nancy Elizabeth “Davis” Domagala, 73, died June 8, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Bar Harbor, May 25, 1939 the daughter of Paul Lurvey Davis and Virginia Mary (Moore) Davis.

Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Ellsworth High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a faithful employee of the Union Trust Company for over 35 years. Nancy was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC of Ellsworth. She was a dear sister, always willing to listen; a true friend, keeping lifetime friendships with her neighbors and school friends, often getting together with them for breakfast and road trips. She loved reading, flowers and gardening, her window boxes were always well tended and a colorful addition to her homes’ exterior. The interior was a treasure of plates, dishes and her prized collection of transfer ware. Her love of antiquing was visible. However, her photos of her children and grandchildren took center stage. She cherished her time with her family and all their activities. She was truly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Beth) Austin and husband Everett of Mariaville, Diane Gaspar and husband James of Orland; sons, Thomas Domagala and wife Corinna, and Joseph Domagala all of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Melissa and Danielle Hinckley, Tena Austin, Shaye, Mitchell, Nolan, and Davis Domagala; sisters, Virginia Salsbury and husband Richard of Ellsworth, Martha Murch and husband Wayne of Franklin; brother, Paul Davis and wife Virginia of Ellsworth. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, William T. Domagala.

Calling hours will be held 5:30-7:00, Monday, June 11, 2012 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth. A graveside service will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.

Oh my, Nancy was the first person to train me for my job at Union Trust. What a great and special lady. Martha trained me second, and I learned so much from both of them. It's been so many years, but often thought of those days, and the people that get you started in life as a young girl. Rest in peace, Nancy. Louise Holyoke

Dear Domagala Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. May you find comfort in your loving memories, and in knowing that God is "near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." (Psalm 34;18) While grief at the loss of Nancy is great, joy at receiving her back in the resurrection will be greater. (Mark 5;42) With deepest sympathy,

Nancy was a true lady and I always enjoyed my conversations and visits with her. I believe a sign of a successful life is not what you gather in your lifetime, but WHO you gather and Nancy gathered many friends and such a loving family - she was very successful! I can only hope I can be as successful in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family in their time of loss.
