Rosamond B. Pinchetti

BERNARD

Rosamond B. Pinchetti, 82, of Benson Lane in Bernard, died May 13, 2012 at a Bar Harbor nursing facility.  She was born August 31, 1929, in Bernard, the youngest daughter of Ralph G. and Eva (Wooster). Benson.

Rose graduated from Pemetic High School, class of 1947.  Following high school graduation, she studied office management at and graduated from Husson College in Bangor.  Following graduation she worked in Hartford, CT and held positions with several different companies as office manager.  It was in Hartford that she met her future husband, Vermonter Irvin Pinchetti, who was a talented practical engineer working in the aerospace industry.  They married in 1953.  From Hartford they then frequently enjoyed traveling north to both Vermont, where Rose learned to downhill ski, and to Mt. Desert Island, where Irvin learned about salt water fishing.  When Irvin retired in 1981, the decision to move back to Bernard was an easy one. Rose was active in the local Kiwanis Club, Tremont Historical Society, and the Tremont Ladies Aid.  She was a Trustee of the Bass Harbor Library, member of the Tremont Congregational Church, and Tremont correspondent for the Bar Harbor TIMES.

While they never had children of their own, Rose is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews from the Benson and Pinchetti families.  She is survived by her sister, Prudence Beal of Southwest Harbor.  Her parents and sister Marilyn predeceased her.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2 PM Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Tremont Congregational Church, Bernard, Maine.  Interment will be in the Benson family cemetery on Lopaus Point.  Gifts in Rose' memory to the Bass Harbor Library, PO Box 99, Bernard, ME  04612 or Southwest Harbor Animal Welfare, PO Box 434, Southwest Harbor, ME  04679.

Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert.

So sorry, Prue, family and friends for your loss. May Our Lord bless you, and comfort you.

Aunt Rosie was a gem, always keeping us informed of events in the extended family and asking after all of us, never missing a chance to wish one a "happy birthday" or "happy anniversary", and even keeping up with her written correspondence- almost to the end. We will miss the wonderful talks with her, her warm smile, and inviting nature. Aunt Rosie, rest in peace.
