Walt was a client of mine. I enjoyed working with him as well as have personal and meaningful conversations about family and life in general. He was open and caring. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Walter's passing-such a nice man-I met him back in the early 80's when we started Maine-ly Maine Gift Shop. Mrs Grant was making the owls from pine cones and he would bring the items into the shop and help her with them. Such a nice couple.

Walter enjoyed talking about his son’s and the trials and tribulations of their lives. Our daily lunch together was a time to catch up on politics, our families, work, and our past.
I looked forward to those times because that is what friends do. One of Walter’s sayings was, “Lunch always tastes better when someone else buys!” so we took turns buying each other’s lunch and he was right.

In real estate Walter was what I called a “Mudder.”. In horse racing a mudder is a horse who plods through the mud, with mud in its face, to win the race. Walter would work with buyers or sellers, sometime for years, to help them to find their dream home or to depart with the family home. Walter’s clients appreciated his effort and in some cases they all became good friends.

Walter will be missed by his brothers, sisters, sons, daughter-in laws, grandchildren, coworkers, and people like me who remember him as a combination of family and friend. RIP Walter.
