Obituary for Francis Edward "Frank" Kinsey

Francis Edward "Frank" Kinsey, 89, passed away suddenly at his home in Hulls Cove on September 14, 2018. Mr. Kinsey was born on May 3, 1929 in New Brunswick, NJ to Edward L. and Kathryn Wright Kinsey.

At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. He served in the Marines and Marine Reserves for a total of 10 years. In 1951 he met the love if his life, Mary Seidl and within 6 months they were married. They were married for 62 years until she passed away in 2014.

Frank was active in his community as a volunteer fire fighter and served as an usher at his church for many years. He also was active in the Civil Air Patrol and Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was proud to provide sentry duty at the base in Southwest Harbor from 2001 to 2014 so that active duty members could provide much needed protection to the country after 9\11\2001.

He was also an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, usher and anything else that may have been asked of him.

They were the proud parents of Kathleen (Chuck) Faircloth, Kevin (Peggy) Kinsey, Maureen (Steven) Kaufman, Margaret Vish, Barbara Kinsey, Edward (Kristi) Kinsey and Charles (Wendy) Kinsey. He was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Harrison Kinsey and Thomas Kinsey, daughter Barbara, son-in-law, John Vish and his loving wife, Mary Seidl Kinsey.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Jordan Fernald Funeral Home 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday September 22, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 56 Mt Desert St., Bar Harbor. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Bar Harbor.

The family requests that donations in his memory be made to Toys for Tots, Gift Processing Center, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.
