Obituary for Patrick S. Raspante

Patrick S.  Raspante
Portland, OR -- Patrick S. Raspante, 95, died April 27, 2018 in Oregon. He was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of Julius and Victoria (Spina) Raspante.

He attended and graduated from the Pompton Lakes High School in Pompton Lakes, NJ. After graduation he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII European Campaign as a gunner on a B-24 bomber. After the war he attended Rutgers University in NJ graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in education and then attended and graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s in education. He retired as principal of Pompton Lakes High School.

He moved to Surry in 1988 with his wife, Barbara Hiller Raspante. They enjoyed their life together in Surry and spent much time traveling. While living on Newbury Neck they made many lifelong friends and enjoyed long hours gathering on their deck. Patrick also enjoyed salt water fishing and boating on Union River bay.

He is survived by sons, Paul and his wife Jana of Surry and Tom of Portland OR; brother, Joe Raspante of FL; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one niece. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara; one son, Steve.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, May 5, 2018 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with a graveside to follow at Morgan Bay Cemetery, Surry.
