Obituary for Charles Carver Curtis Sr.

Charles Carver  Curtis Sr.
Charles Carver Curtis Sr., 85, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2018 at his home after battling cancer. He was born Nov. 20, 1932 in Harrington the son of Raymond and Mabel (Libby) Curtis.

Charles and his late wife of 47 years Ruth (Strout) Curtis owned and operated the Dairy Joy from 1963-1973. He also worked as the service manager for R.W. Mathews and Sons prior to his retirement. He was a bee keeper for Cherryfield Foods. He enjoyed hunting and will be sadly missed by his hunting buddy “Trooper”. Charles was a member and past Master of the Narraguagus Lodge #88; Anah Shrine and Anah Wheelers. He was a retired fire chief after 40 years and also served as the fire warden.

Charles is survived by 3 sons, Garry Curtis and wife Sheila, Barry Curtis and wife Morgan, Charles Curtis Jr. and wife Cathy, all of Cherryfield; grandchildren, Daniel Curtis and wife Shannon, Angela Curtis Hall and husband Caleb, Krystal Curtis and significant other Ryan Church, Bradlee Curtis and wife Mariah and Kelly Curtis; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Evangeline Farnsworth and Betty Gay; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and a son Bradlee Curtis.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm, Jan. 13, 2018 at the Cherryfield Fire Dept. with Rev. Larry Zimmerman pastor of the First Congregational Church of Cherryfield.
